I'm all about celebrating my birthday, so I can appreciate the way Oprah parties on her big day. My husband, Jim, always jokes that I don't celebrate my birthDAY, I celebrate my birthWEEK. It's true. I love it. I've never had a 400-pound birthday cake, like Oprah, but I go all out on my own budget.
I'm about to run out the door and will have to watch the rest of the show later, but I want you to know, I did go "Awwwwwww....." when Oprah had her new springer spaniel puppies brought out onstage in a basket and baby buggy. I'm such a sucker for baby animals. Especially pound puppies. But I also rolled my eyes (a little) when Oprah said she was urged by a friend to hire help to take care of the dogs. Oprah's so excited that she can get help with the pups! Then I realized I would like a nanny for my cats. Mainly when it comes to poop-scooping, claw-clipping, and cat hair-removal. Any takers?
Happy birthday, Oprah! Hope it's a great one...and happy birthday to the special folks who share January 29th as their birthday. Admit it, how many of you, when asked what your birthday is, quickly inform anyone who will listen, "It's Oprah's birthday, too!"

We have a tradition in our house as well...it usually starts with the 'happy birthday the day before your birthday' greeting and then moves on from there.
Sometimes I wish I could celebrate Oprah-style, but there ain't NO WAY I am trying on a pair of white 'anythings'!

I'll take care of your cats for you...if you pay me more than my current salary, plus pay for my relocation from Iowa, give me a benefit package including stock options, health insurance, etc. No go? Well, I'm allergic to cats anyway.
I don't enjoy scooping my pup's poop or trimming his nails, either, but I guess it's a trade-off for how awesome he is.
Don't cats pretty much take care of themselves? My cat does, all she does is eat & sleep & poop.

I was supposed to be studying for a test I have early in the morning, but instead I turned on TV to find "The Oprah Effect" was on CNBC and the show won. I am a loyal Oprah viewer, I find her a fascinating woman but I NEVER buy any of the things she says. Every time I watched a show when she was promoting a product, I thought "who buys all this stuff?" and well watching the show tonight, I found one person who did! Interesting things on this blog. You look like a fantastic yoga instructor, maybe you can tell us how you're living your best life according to you since you got really good results in your weight loss. :)
It's amazing to me that you have the time to "live Oprah"! Before you got the book deal were you independently wealthy, or did you have to fit Oprah's reading, shoppig, meditating, etc. into a life filled with a 8-5 job?
I really enjoyed The Oprah Effect and your part in the show. Now what would be really cool is when your book is published, if Oprah decided to have you on her show to hype the book! How funny would that be.

I have finally started reading your book and I love it! Although I started reading this blog part way through your project, I feel as though I know you. I feel like this is a book written by a friend and that I can say, when I see it on the store shelves, "I know her!"

Every time I pick up your book I smile when I see your leopard print flats. I find myself searching for a pair! Not because Oprah told me I needed them, but because I love the idea of you wearing them. I've never seen anyone wearing them in public, so I don't think Oprah's suggestion took off, but your shoes on the cover of the book may jump start a craze!
