And the Baklava goes to...

Dawn-Michelle!

She kicked all our butts, didn't she? DM, let's chat about how to get that baklava to you.

In honor of everyone's observations, I'll share one of my own. This picture was taken about an hour ago in NYC. I look very dour in it, but I'm not really glowering (although my feet are killing me). I had just taken a large bite of protein bar (I'm hiding the wrapper in my folded hands) and I'm doing my best NOT to look like a chipmunk as all the peanut butter gunk was shoved into my cheek.

I just sat down to watch the show in my hotel room and realized I hadn't changed the clock on my laptop. Long story short, I totally missed it because of the time zone change. I really wanted to see it. Y'all know how annoyed I get at the Best Life stamp of approval on processed foods chock full of chemicals and sugar. I wanted to see the show that birthed it all. Let me know what you thought, if you saw it. I might have to make do with the online version. Ah well.

Hope everyone had a fabulous holiday weekend. I'll do another contest again, that was fun. In fact, there's one brewing in my brain about Best Life seals of approval...I'll let you know!

I know this will never happen, but I would love to see Dr. Oz and Bob Greene duke it out. I purposely don't buy "Best Life" products because I came across one that had high fructose corn syrup as one of the top ingredients -- isn't that one of the biggest nutritional don'ts? Glad you're having a fab time in NY.

Oh! I know the week is over, but I have one to share...

I was at a White Sox game over the weekend and one of the hotdog vendors was going up and down the aisle selling his hotdogs and he yelled out "Hotdogs! Oprah says they're good for you!"

Funny, no?

I had another one too, but now I've forgotten it.

I watched today--either I didn't see the original 2007 airing or I blocked it out. :) It was *not* the launch of Best Life show (that one I saw, and it was the entire hour, with megagiveaways to the audience, etc but one of the follow up flacks for it. This one was when it had been out long enough for one woman to provide a very sincere endorsement of how much easier it made her weight loss life). And I thought it was interesting (as Linh alludes) that Dr. Oz and Bob never were on stage or camera at the same time. I would definitely look up the Discovery Channel show (Story of Food? haven't checked the website yet) Dr. Oz was promoting. That looked really interesting (debunking the "water is good for your skin" myth, etc.) though I wonder if, like most previews, we didn't just see all the best parts.

I really enjoyed the piece on The Oprah Effect about you. You are very refreshing and light. I wish I could have afforded to buy all of Oprah's favorite things. This economy sucks. My hubby has been out of work for 17 months. I also didn't like when she talked to the Johnson and Johnson heir. What does he know about suffering in this economy? Oh boo hoo! Waa waa! We are looking at not being able to pay the house payment soon, no insurance, lymes disease diagnosis and savings running out and soon. I also would have loved to hear what effect this economy has had on Oprah who is worth 2.7 billion. I haven't watched since that show. Makes me so mad.

I love baklava. One time I ate four trays in a half hour before being rushed to the hospital. I am okay now, but can only eat one baklava tray per month per my doctor's orders.

laugh out loud. literally.

I have never watched Oprah in my life. I actually had to check the spelling on her name to get to this site. Although, I've never watched it, I absolutely LOVE the concept.

That has to be a total blast.
