Bummer. I just tried to watch my tape of this morning's Oprah and it looks like I was at the end of the tape and only managed to capture about 20 minutes of the show. I'll have to tune in or record it tonight at 11pm to see the rest of the 2007 episode about getting out and meeting our neighbors.
I did hear one Oprah-assignment, given right at the beginning of the show: "By the end of this hour...I hope you will agree: it's high time to reach out, extend yourself and meet your neighbors. Do something nice for them." It's sort of perfect...we're moving next week so we'll make a point of meeting the new neighbors and doing something nice for them. They'll probably think I'm nuts when I arrive at their door with a plate of brownies or something, but I'm up for it. I live in a city, afterall, we tend to eye each other suspiciously when strangers are unexpectedly warm.
I'll post about the rest of the show after I watch it (either tonight or first thing tomorrow a.m.)

I'm moving to a different state in a couple of weeks and am thinking of having a "come meet us" party so we can get integrated into the new neighborhood more quickly. I feel kind of silly about it, but I am not sure how else to actually meet my neighbors before Halloween (the one time people seem to mingle).
Good luck to us both!
I like this idea of reaching out to neighbors. We moved into our current apartment in April. During the summer the few neighbors we had moved out (I hope it wasn't us *lol*). In the last two months we've had several new neighbors move in. It's a perfect season to make some cookies or some treat and leave the treats on their doorsteps for a nice surprise.
