While I did identify with today's show about people suffering from OCD, I would never put myself through what the guests did at OCD Bootcamp. Of course, I don't have diagnosed obsessive compulsive disorder, but I do get super grossed out by germs on public transportation, hotel rooms, and buffets. Of course, I've gotten food poisoning a number of time from salad bars, so I feel somewhat justified by my distaste for "public food." Anyway, I was impressed with how willing they were to push the limits in order to recover from their disorder. But, when it came to scenes of the OCD sufferers touching toilet seats and alley dumpsters and then licking their hands, I felt queasy.
Normally, when I feel queasy, I eat yogurt. However, as you know, I've joined Oprah on the 21-Day Cleanse and cannot eat animal products. I had some soy-gurt instead. Not quite as satisfying. Last night's dinner was annoying...I was in a hurry and when in a rush, I tend to lean toward eggs or cheese and since I couldn't have those, in order to get enough protein to teach a couple yoga classes in a row, I ate more hummus than a human being should consume in one sitting. I never want to see a chick pea again.

You should have a personal chef as well, it would make it much easier, wouldn't it! Don't be scared of soy yogurt immediately. Different brands taste very different. I also really like smoothies with soy yogurt, soy or rice milk and lots of fresh and frozen fruit.
It really helps to find some good recipes. Try a good lentil salad, maybe? And don't forget to eat your greens, they have lots of protein and other nutrients that you really need.
hey anon! i was vegan for several years, but that ended over 10 years ago and i have amnesia about certain options. thanks for the reminder about the lentils. i eat pretty healthily/organic/no sugar/locally grown stuff, so it's not an agony for me, but the 21-day cleanse is a little overwhelming in its holistic nature. the no gluten, no caffeine thing is a little rough. i actually already don't eat wheat, but i definitely eat other gluten-grains. you are so right about those greens! i bought some kale today! thanks for the suggestion. (by the way, silk plain soy yogurt is the only non-sweetened soygurt i know about...do you know of any others? i usually buy that one, but it's a little flat tasting. i add some vanilla and even a tablespoon of all-fruit spread to make it taste yummier. if you have other ideas, please let me know! gracias!)

I felt so bad for them on that episode. Poor guy would rather wipe his hands on the toilet seat, and lick them than sit on the seat. Poor people!
teal chic, i know! i couldn't believe how willing they were to do what the doctor told them to do. they must have been in so much pain. also, it was probably good to have dr. oz along for the ride to do the exercises with them. but still, yuckola! best, LO
