Can I get a group hug?

I generally enjoy shows about openness and acceptance. I think live and let live (as long as no one's getting hurt) is a principle I'll never tire of. I imagine Oprah's audience to be more 'mainsteam' than my lefty friends and me, so I'm happy when she does shows like today's about being gay in different countries around the world. I thought she did a good job with her guests who were all touching, charming and well-spoken. I hope the message of tolerance was absorbed as amicably by her viewers as her lessons on which jeans are right for their body type.

Speaking of vitally important lessons live by, I've learned that a white denim jacket doesn't have to be embarrassingly hideous. I got mine yesterday. It needs a good ironing before I am photographed in it, but piggybacking on today's theme of coming out of the closet, I shout out with dignity, "I own a white denim jacket and I will wear it with pride!"
