So, way back when, on February 18th, Oprah had the cast of "Horton Hears a Who" on the show. She told her audience, ""It is the perfect movie for families. And for adults, you will love it, too. So go see it." Today was the big day. My friend Dara and her adorable daughter Ella joined me in watching the Seuss classic. I enjoyed observing 4 1/2-year old Ella during the movie...she went from a giggling, pleased kid to one who kept repeating the mantra "I want to go home now!" I can't say I loved it, but Dara, who was with me during the "27 Dresses" outing, and I both agreed it was better than the Heigl movie. And it was shorter. And I ate popcorn during it, which makes everything better, doesn't it?
Today's Oprah show was filled with clips from the ABC Friday night show, "Primetime: What Would You Do?" I watched the John QuiƱones series regularly and unfortunately, this morning's show was just a repeat of old episodes, without any new material. Still, it's really interesting to see and has made me much more aware and active in what I've observed in my day to day life. I love those little morality tests in social situations.
I think this show actually complements yesterday's show...I believe Oprah is encouraging us to be responsible and active citizens of the planet. Urging us to take care of each other and our environment. I can't really find fault with this and am grateful the reminder is watched by millions.
I have an admission to make, I found out that tomorrow's show will highlight The Jonas Brothers. If you're like me, when you read this, you said, "Horton Hears a WHO the heck are the Jonas Brothers?" I have NO idea who these boys are except that I believe they are brothers who share the last name Jonas. And from the show promos, I know they're musicians. Help me out here, parents of 'tweens: will this be a repeat of the Hillary Duff experience? Or more specifically, will it be a one-Advil or two-Advil day?

Yes my dear - the Jonas Brothers are a boy version of Hannah Montana only they don't do a whole lot of bouncing up and down. Really they do have pretty good voices. BUT depending on the audience it just might be at least a 2 Advil show! I'm thinking it might not be has loud as the Hannah stuff tho.
Garsy
thanks for the heads up, Garsy! i had no idea what to expect from them. i appreciate your insight into the world of preteens! (i'll keep the whole bottle in my hand throughout the show, just in case!) xo LO
At least 2 Advil!
