I just watched the download of Oprah's online class that was a technical mess on Monday night. I'm beat. It was very dense but also very basic and introductory. I think it was totally necessary for people new to reading spiritual material that isn't directly connected to organized religion. But as I am no stranger to the self-help/spirituality aisle of my bookstore, I found the class a little tedious. I think it's a good idea though and I'm looking forward to delving deeper into the book.
Oprah really talked a lot about herself at first and I was worried that would take up the entire class. Luckily, she moved into a role she performs very well - moderator. It was interesting to see Oprah and Eckhart Tolle in the same space. Where she has a gigantic personality, he is so gentle and unassuming. And yet, for years barely anyone had heard of him and or his work until someone with Oprah's powerful persona could act as catalyst. I find it ironic, in some ways, that it takes such potent marketing to push the concept of living without ego.
My new assignment is to complete the Chapter 2 section of the workbook for A New Earth.

That's a great observation about the marketing of "without ego."
I don't watch Oprah regularly but I've been checking the TV menu's description almost every day so that I get to anticipate your reaction. I have to say it's a lot more fun reading about your adventures with the show than actually watching the show!
Thank you for this experiment.
