Today's rerun with Bill Cosby allowed me to do some Living Oprah maintenance. While the episode was incredibly important, none of Oprah's instructions applied to me directly. After watching the show, I was able to focus on savoring every meal (side note: my meals take twice as long to eat now! I must have inhaled them previously. Before Oprah told me to savor my food, I think I gave the Dyson vacuum a run for its money). I also did my Marianne Williamson "A Course on Miracles." I really don't like it and am counting down the days (300!) until I can stop. There's something about her use of religious language to teach a universal lesson that has caused some sort of wall to go up in me. I know I might cause some eyes to roll, but using exclusively patriarchal verbiage to inspire women makes me cringe.
I'm going to use some of the free time I have later tonight to do some reading - more A New Earth and Women's Bodies, Women's Wisdom. And guess what? I see that my WHITE JEANS and turtlenecks have arrived at my husband's workplace, which means I'll get my excited little hands on them tomorrow. I can't wait. This weekend I'm going to play a little dress up and do a photo shoot to share with you all. It's like Halloween in March!

OK, I know I'm almost two years behind in reading your blog, but I only found out about it a couple of months ago. ANYway, I HAD to comment on how you feel about A Course in Miracles because I feel exactly the same way! The language used just rankles me! It's disappointing and just WRONG. The message is good, but the way it's presented just turned me off. Thank you for saying how you really felt about it--it's nice to know I'm not the only one. P.S. I'm enjoying your blog immensely--I wish I'd known about it earlier.
