100 haircuts

Oprah's rerun today was a fun one - 48 hours/100 haircuts. And it was meaningful as much of the chopped hair was donated to Pantene Beautiful Lengths in order to create hairpieces for women who lose their own locks during cancer treatment. I recently chopped my long hair into a short style and tried to donate to another organization, but sadly I have too much gray. And sadder still, I imagine I'll have even more at the end of this year!

A funny thing - Peter Walsh's book, It's All Too Much, was unavailable on Amazon. It was sold out. I'm guessing I'm not the only one who tried to buy it after the hoarding show aired on Oprah. Her recommendations make book sales shoot through the roof! I was able to find it on another web retailer's site, so I'm good to go.

I told my husband about the Evaluate Your Marriage test we'll be taking from the Oprah website. He sort of froze in place for a moment and looked like he wanted to back out of the room. Still, he's a great sport about all of this and he consented to do it. We both agreed that timing is everything, though, and we'll take the test after I turn in my first thesis draft next Friday.

I think the stress of this project, along with finishing my master's thesis, has been keeping me from sleeping well. I woke up feeling a bit listless but thought it was hilarious when I saw a promo for Tuesday's upcoming show about sleep disorders. Life imitating art? Vice-versa?

I have really been enjoying your blog. You bring up a lot of good points about her wealthy lifestyle versus her message. Hopefully, she invite you onto her show! Good luck.

My favorite moment from the show: "Hair coloring is the most important thing to happen to women in the last 50 years."
