I'm feeling a little rushed and scattered today and this post might reflect that. Just a warning!
Like most folks out there, I wasn't able to relate to the children of sperm donors on the show today. At first, it seemed like such an odd show to follow the last 3, but then I tried to contextualize it in the grand scheme of her 2008 shows so far. Maybe the reason it belongs in the season is because it showed another facet of a human being's continual search to find her true self. Do you think? Or am I giving too much credit to the producers? Many of you have mentioned the crazy hodgepodge of topics so far this year and I'm trying to make sense out of it all. Have you connected the dots in another way?
So, I've been considering requesting tickets to see the show again. It's been a few years since I've been in the studio audience and I'm curious to see how the experience might be different now that I'm steeped in the Living Oprah project. I'll let you know if I manage to get a seat!
I've signed up for Suze Orman's MyFico program and was relieved to see that my credit is decent. I was avoiding finding out about credit scores because I was scared about what I'd find. In actuality, there was nothing to be afraid of. For years, though, I had been paralyzed by what I might discover. Because of my commitment to this project, I had to step through some major fear I had about finances. I think this was a really great learning experience for me. I wonder what other fears might be holding me back from living my "best life?"
Here's something else for you to mull over: When Oprah mentions O Magazine on her show, why does she always need to comment that she is on the cover? I find it oddly redundant that she feels the need to mention that she is on the cover of the magazine that she is on the cover of every single month.

If you think back over the years, the Oprah show is a "hodgepodge". One day it's rape victims, the next it's Rachel Ray. She definitely has more focus going this year with the "Best Life" thing, but I'm not surprised to see more of other things sprinkled in. In other words: Yes! I think you might be giving the producers too much credit. But I don't really know what I'm talking about, so take it for what it is :)
Now it's my turn to give Oprah too much credit. I had taken notice of her tendency to always mention that she's on the cover, and my gut reaction was that she's not totally comfortable with it. Maybe she feels like being on the cover every single month is a little much. Or maybe I just think that and I'm projecting!
