Hi all,
I have been receiving terrific questions from those whom I've shared this project. The support and the challenges I've heard have been helping me craft my work ahead. Someone has asked - will I eat EVERYTHING Oprah advises we eat? Well, those who know my know I have some severe food allergies, so this would be incredibly irresponsible and not the point of my project. If a recipe on the website insists I use milk, I will use an alternative. I will still create the recipe, but in a way that won't send me to the ER.
What else - some have asked what if I cannot afford to purchase everything Oprah tells us we should own? This is what I've come up with: if Oprah says buy a book, I can go to the library or borrow it. I will be keeping track of how much everything would cost should I buy it, however. I will track how much everything costs, as well as any way I've discovered to lower the cost. Additionally, I am applying for grants to support the project and would happily :) accept donations for this experiment.
Another major question has been about contradiction. What if Oprah says to do one thing, but then in another show, counters her advice? Right now, my thought is that I will try to do both things and document the effect of the contradiction.
Keep the questions coming! I'm sure it'll help to be challenged with ideas I have not thought of. Leave a comment here on the blog and I'll respond.
